Earth is a living thing. A big one indeed. Every eco, climatic, seismic and oceanic system plays a vital role to ensure that all living organisms can prosper. If anyone of these system is disturbed, this will unbalance the normal functioning of the earth, and dismay results may occur.
This limitation to the functioning of all earth’s systems has been mainly due to the our greedy misuse of resources and lack of concern for the earth. All countries in the world need to legislate decisively now what measures should be taken collectively, otherwise, our next generation is going to be the ones suffering from our mishandling policies. Spiritually, the aura of the earth will be weakening and one may not know how this may impact the whole planet.
However, I observe that there is an increased awareness of this issue amongst the people and I just hope this will turn into a global movement that will gradually educate the importance of treating our earth with care. It is not going to be easy though. Just think, money or earth, which is more important to you? The promise of the returns of the commercial carrot dangling in front of businessmen to churn out more food and materials for the billions of people may be too irresistible as compared to the call to protect the earth.
Fortunately, most countries have understood this importance and the trend toward violation and indifference is being slowly reversed now. As long as the financial implications are not going to affect national interests, there will be some spiritual healing in the process.
And for now, I must draw to the individual attention of man’s relationship with the earth herself. We as individuals must also care for the place that we live in. Stop throwing wastes into the rivers and cut down trees indiscriminately. Also pay respect to other living organisms. We humans must not attempt to be God as we will never be as we are not the highest form of spiritual Intelligence out there.
May all come to see their true relationship with the earth and with the body of Life, for in truth, there is no one who does not have an effect on the whole, and no one whose life cannot add to it in great measure.
